Our Approach

Direct Freight Solutions is committed to making this website as accessible and usable as possible for all visitors, regardless of ability or the technology they use.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA where practical. This website has been designed with accessibility in mind, although we have not completed a formal audit or certification process.

What We've Done

The following accessibility practices have been implemented:

• Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements — links, buttons, form fields, and navigation — can be operated using a keyboard.
• Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, and ARIA attributes to help screen readers understand page structure.
• Readable text: Body text uses a clean sans-serif font at comfortable sizes with adequate contrast against backgrounds.
• Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements are designed to meet minimum contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
• Form labels: All form fields have associated labels, clear required-field indicators, and descriptive error messages.
• Focus indicators: Visible focus outlines appear when navigating with a keyboard.
• Reduced motion: Animations are disabled when the prefers-reduced-motion setting is active in the operating system or browser.
• Skip links: A "Skip to main content" link is available for keyboard users.
• Responsive design: The website adapts to different screen sizes and works on mobile devices.
• Descriptive alt text: Images include alternative text descriptions where content is meaningful.

Known Limitations

While we strive for accessibility, some areas may not yet meet all WCAG 2.1 AA criteria:

• Decorative hero background images currently use CSS placeholder backgrounds rather than photographic images with full alt text.
• Some third-party resources (CDN-loaded fonts, icons) are outside our direct control.
• A comprehensive accessibility audit has not yet been completed.
